Matt's parents made a point to send us out for evening while they are in town visiting. With our anniversary next week, we decided we ought to go to dinner. After brainstorming a handful of high falutin' options around town that seemed anniversary-worthy, we realized what we most wanted was just to have a night out doing what we habitually did up until 3 weeks ago. That is to head to Central Market for dinner and live music - maybe even bump into some familiar faces from the pool and then browse some of the seasonal produce and baked goods. .

For just our short hour there, we kept referencing details of the last time we were here with waves of nostalgia that we know will be filed in the most sacred of family memory archives. The night 3 weeks ago when I struggled to find a comfortable sitting position in our booth as my back ebbed and flowed with pain until finally I told Matt we should head home. We got home only to realize we should pack our bags and head to the hospital.

Tonight we sat and listened to the Cuban rhythms of Cienfuegos over dinner and talked about all that has happened over 12 years of marriage and then just in the last 3 weeks. We shared our mix of feelings about the new #sweeneydynamic then began daydreaming about a future visit with our sweet Boo Bop once his immune system could withstand the vibrant community we live in and he could hold his head up. The moment that happens, you can bet I'll be up there dancing with him.
